Allison Cara Tolman was born in the United States. Her character, Molly Solverson, in season one of FX's Fargo the television show, has earned her nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe. Tolman had three older siblings and one younger. When she was only few months old, her family relocated to England in the United Kingdom, where they lived for about four years. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently stole the whole production". Tolman was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries and was also nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her performance. It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman will make an appearance on the Mindy project as Abby Berman who is a romance author. In 2015, she played the role of a support in Michael Dougherty s comedy horror movie Krampus. Tolman's breakthrough role in the film in the film as Fargo was the reason she decided to leave various supporting roles, such as those of mothers and best friends, wives and husbands. Tolman was searching for other roles with a twist. Tolman was a part of ABC on Downward Dog (based on Animal Media Group's web-series). The series was cancelled after a single season. Tolman starred on the ABC drama Emergence. It premiered on September 24, 2019 and ended after one season, on May 21, 2021. Despite the fact that Tolman tweeted that the show received "pretty excellent" ratings. In addition, she was in a guest appearance on NBC's Good Girls. In 2021, she appeared as Alma Filcott in the second season of the drama show Why Women Kill, and played Natalie Green in The Facts of Life portion of the third season of Live in Front of a Studio Audience.
